Dogs of Escient #13 - meet Kobe
Hi, I’m Kobe, a 4-year-old Border Collie who’s living my best life right now! Thanks to the One Foot Forward campaign, I’m getting lots of extra walks and quality time with my mum, Claire. I’ve been hitting the pavement daily, and I’m pretty sure I’ve even shed a few pounds—finally working off that baby weight I put on when my older human brother arrived a few years ago. Here’s hoping we can keep up the routine!Dogs of Escient #12 - meet Jinx
Dogs of Escient #11 - meet Bordeaux
This is Bordeaux. She lives with Dennis. She is 17 months and the complete opposite of Gypsy in that she is 'Crazy as anything, but has lazy 5 minutes each day'Dogs of Escient #10 - meet Gypsy
Here's Julia's own 'black dog' Gypsy. She's a rescue racing greyhound who was retired at 2 yrs old, she's now 11. She's lazy as anything, but has crazy 5 minutes at walkies time each day. She's been getting extra walks lately....Dogs of Escient #9 - meet Parker
Hello I'm Parker! I love going on Sunday adventures with my Mum Helen, exploring lots of different paths and parks across Melbourne, and finding lots of hidden gems and balls 🎾 along the way as can be seen on my Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/the.tales.of.parker/profilecard/?igsh=MWY2c24zNGV1MzZncg==
Lucky for me, Mum loves walking as much as me 😁, so every day is an adventure during One Foot Forward. Knowing we are helping to raise much needed funds for mental health is THE BEST feeling!
Dogs of Escient #7 and #8 - meet Sammie and Calhoun
This is Sammie (yellow female) and Calhoun (black male), twin labradors almost 13 now. They are lucky enough to get a walk in each morning, including to the beach once a week. There's a lot more huffing and puffing on their walks now, but the same is true of their owner, Steve.Dogs of Escient #5 and #6- meet Leo and Gretel
Hello, I'm Leo and this is my little sister Gretel! Our mom and dad said we get to have extra walkies in October to help our friends at BDI, so we just wanted to say thank you to them for organising such a great event and you for supporting them!Dogs of Escient #4 - meet Boots
Hi, I'm Boots, I'm almost 1 and my pastimes are creeks, balls and barking at people who walk past the house. I"m thrilled my owner (Sophie) has taken me on a walking challenge, more exploring and exercise for me!Dogs of Escient #3 - meet Hope
This is Hope. Hope came to Jen's family through German Shepherd Rescue after their beloved Husky passed during Lockdown. For Jen and her family, she arrived when Hope was what they needed most.Dogs of Escient #2 - meet Billie
This is Billie. She's Ben's 2yo Maltese Shih Tzu who they've had since she was 3 months. She has a mind of her own and has both Ben and his partner wrapped around her little paw.Dogs of Escient - meet Bilbo
The dogs of Escient always love October as they get plenty of walks! Meet Bilbo the chocolate labradoodle. On Sundays walk he bumped into his best mate - Mango the golden cocker spaniel. Bilbo's favourite dog games are chasing, being chased and sitting on his best friend!Support Our Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
In fact, every day in Australia, 9 people will die by suicide.
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, our team will be taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
We’re walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute, so that they can put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support our walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
