Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them. 

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

A little better

A little better today which I pleased with. Hoping for more distance tomorrow. It’s amazing how much walking can help lift your mood 😊

Pushing through

Today was a challenge emotionally and due to significant hip pain. I’m pleased with 2.5 km in spite of the hurdles and look forward to doing better tomorrow!

Keeping on keeping on

Tough MH day today and a 4 hour Zentangle class but managed to get some steps in. Not as many steps as I’d have liked but better than none. Hoping for a better day tomorrow…keep moving I tell myself!

Day one and it’s on!

My aim is to walk a minimum of 5000 steps a day. If I manage that I’ll have done 155 000 steps for the month. That doesn’t sound right but going to trust the calculator. Best I add another zero to my goal!! Early start this morning. Up at 3:30am to take hubby to the airport. Good chance of a higher step count today…although I might go back to bed for a bit when I get home 🥴

100kms plus!

 If I do at least 6,000 steps per day in October, I would walk about 140 km for the month. Who wants to join me?! I’d love to be able to do more than 100kms.
