I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone. I will be walking 100km in October (along with Louis 🐶), to raise awareness for mental health. It has never been something I’ve been open to sharing, but I want to help change that stigma… So on a personal level, I have struggled with depression and anxiety, particularly over a specific number of years. I understand it can be so hard to open up about those feelings and thoughts, to feel that things won’t get better, and the struggle in asking for help. Mental illness is so prevalent. Yet it’s rarely acknowledged, and given characteristics of weakness. But mental health is as important as every other aspect of your health and wellbeing. Mental health matters. You matter. So I will be walking for One Foot Forward, to raise funds and to improve support and awareness. I will be walking for me, for you, for everyone who has struggled in the past, for everyone struggling now, for everyone we have sadly lost, and for everyone yet to ask for help.

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
