Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

One foot forward – rain or shine

Today marks Day 1 of my 150km challenge for One Foot Forward, and of course, it’s raining…. There’s something about grey skies and steady rain that mirrors the way many of us feel when we’re struggling with our mental health. Heavy. Slow. Unmotivated. The world feels a little less bright, and just getting started can feel like the hardest part. But that’s exactly why I’m walking. Because mental illness doesn’t wait for a sunny day. It doesn’t take breaks. And for so many people, every day can feel like walking through the rain, even when the sun is shining. So I laced up and stepped out anyway. Not because I felt like it, but because movement matters. Because getting up and putting one foot in front of the other, literally and figuritively, is one small way we push back against the heaviness. It’s not about pace, or distance, or weather. It’s about showing up. This walk is for everyone who’s felt stuck, weighed down, or alone. I’m walking 150km this October to raise funds for mental health research and support, and to remind us all that even on the hardest days, we can take one small step forward. If you’d like to support or follow along, thank you. Every step, and every donation, counts. #OneFootForward #MentalHealthMatters #WalkForMentalHealth
