Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

✨ october milestones & gratitude ✨

This past week has been one of those truly special chapters. I turned 50 and got to celebrate with my incredible friends and family, I’m feeling so grateful for every single person who shows up in my life in big and small ways. 💛 On top of that, I’ve already clocked over 150km for my One Foot Forward challenge this month! Next stop… 200km 🚶‍♀️💪 Even a little injury from too much dancing on Saturday night isn’t slowing me down. This morning’s walk was slower, more reflective. I paused to watch the waves roll in, thinking about the beautiful memories from the weekend and the amazing people I got to share it with. 🌊✨ To everyone who’s donated or cheered me on so far, thank you. Your support truly means the world and helps make a difference for mental health. If you’ve been thinking about donating, now’s a great time to get behind the cause #OneFootForward #MentalHealthMatters #Gratitude #MilestoneMoments #WalkingForACause #Turning50 #ThankYou

Long weekends are good for the soul - even when they don’t rack up the kms!

It’s been a busy few days here in Queensland. Friday kicked off with a grounding Pilates class (thank goodness for that calm start!) before a long day on the road picking up my parents and daughter from the airport, definitely not a day for big steps, but a special one nonetheless. The weekend was all about soaking up the sunshine, beach time, and I even braved my first swim of the season! 🌊☀️ I was especially grateful to squeeze in a couple of peaceful sunrise walks with my daughter, those quiet moments really do wonders for the mind. Back to the juggle of school, work and kids’ activities tomorrow, which means scheduling in movement and self-care becomes even more important. I’m determined to keep putting One Foot Forward, not just for myself, but for everyone walking their own mental health journey. Thanks so much to everyone who has supported me so far. If you’d like to donate or share the cause, it means the world! 💙

Day 2 - 15km down!

This morning’s 6 km walk was something special, I shared it with my daughter, and the conversation flowed easily as we chatted about her upcoming travel plans. She’s preparing to head to the UK early next year, an experience I had myself at the same age. It brought back memories, and made me so grateful for this moment of connection. There’s something powerful about walking with someone, side by side, no distractions. It’s a space to reconnect, especially with our kids as they grow older and we tend to drift into the “reminder/nagging” role. This morning reminded me how walking together can make space for real connection, laughter, and shared excitement for what’s ahead. If you have someone in your life you’d like to reconnect with, a child, parent, sibling, or friend, I truly recommend a walk. It can do wonders. Thanks for following along — and walking beside me in spirit. 💙

One foot forward – rain or shine

Today marks Day 1 of my 150km challenge for One Foot Forward, and of course, it’s raining…. There’s something about grey skies and steady rain that mirrors the way many of us feel when we’re struggling with our mental health. Heavy. Slow. Unmotivated. The world feels a little less bright, and just getting started can feel like the hardest part. But that’s exactly why I’m walking. Because mental illness doesn’t wait for a sunny day. It doesn’t take breaks. And for so many people, every day can feel like walking through the rain, even when the sun is shining. So I laced up and stepped out anyway. Not because I felt like it, but because movement matters. Because getting up and putting one foot in front of the other, literally and figuritively, is one small way we push back against the heaviness. It’s not about pace, or distance, or weather. It’s about showing up. This walk is for everyone who’s felt stuck, weighed down, or alone. I’m walking 150km this October to raise funds for mental health research and support, and to remind us all that even on the hardest days, we can take one small step forward. If you’d like to support or follow along, thank you. Every step, and every donation, counts. #OneFootForward #MentalHealthMatters #WalkForMentalHealth
