One foot forward

I've been living with mental illness for over 12 years and it's tough. It has impacted every aspect of my life and I often struggle with basic tasks. In the past few years, I've dealt with some of my worst moments, and during that time met some brilliant mental health professionals but also some not-so-great ones. Having bad run-ins with the people they tell you to go to for help makes it incredibly difficult to continue seeking professional help.

This is why the work that Black Dog Institute does is so important; providing support to those in need but also pushing for change and improvements to Australia's mental health care system. So many people in our lives have struggles whether we know about them or not, 1 in 5 people every year are struggling with a mental illness.

I'm joining my team at Black Wolf Collective in challenging myself to walk 100km in October to raise funds for Black Dog Institute. It's a great cause and in raising funds we can help that 1 in 5 to get through their hardest moments and improve mental health care for us all.
