I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone. ONE FOOT FORWARD Living with mental health challenges means some days start in darkness. The weight is real, the fatigue is real, and the fight is often silent. But I keep moving — not in leaps, just in steps. This journey isn’t about being okay all the time. It’s about choosing to put one foot forward, even when my mind makes it hard to breathe, think, or act. I walk this path for myself and for anyone battling quietly. If today all you can do is get through, or take a single step — that is still progress. 🖤 I’m cycling to get back into something I love and miss. So here is to one pedal stroke at a time to!

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Day 4 🚴🏼‍♀️

103km done - 400km to go! Might have to increase goal soon🤩

Day 4 🚴🏼‍♀️

Getting it done. I have completed 103km so far. Might have to increase. I also thought a good target to raise would be $150, however I updated the next day as this was reached. Then went to $500, again everyone’s generous support has blown it out. So again an increase to $800! This is mind blowing as now this has been reached. So I have decided to go all out and try to reach $1,000.
Again I can’t thank you all enough for helping support such a great support team. In rural settings like Cairns it’s so hard to have help in person. So to be able to get the right helplines and resources is amazing. For anyone struggling please reach out.
Don’t forget you are Amazing, Loved and Strong.
Black Dog Institute has helplines and resources for people in distress and for anyone helping someone.

Getting it done 🚴🏼‍♀️

Today was a tough one. The cycle felt heavier than usual — not just in the legs, but in the head and heart. Some days the road pushes back harder, and today was one of those. But this ride isn’t just about the easy kilometres — it’s about showing up even when it hurts, for everyone who faces their own uphill battles every day. Thank you to those who keep supporting and believing in this cause. Your encouragement helps me keep turning the pedals, even on the hard days.

Logging my activity

So I finally found out how to link my Garmin to this app. 🤦🏽‍♀️ But my activity will not come through for 24hours. So this morning I have ridden 17kms. 🙌🏼Thank you all again.

First start

Hi Everyone, So I’m not a morning person by any means, but I thought let’s try it out. Let’s start the day with a sweat and heart starter. 😂 Things I have learnt today: * I’m still not a morning person. *The medications I’m on currently are definitely a bit rough this early * And need to start a little more earlier as I’m still slow getting organised 😂 But I did it so tick ✔️ to me. Also please excuse my face 🤣but wowza I love my new bike. ❤️

Getting back on 1 pedal stroke at a time

I’ve lived with the weight of mental health struggles for a long time. Some days it’s quiet, other days it feels like it could swallow me whole. Through some of my hardest moments, the Black Dog Institute has been there—providing insight, resources, and hope when things felt overwhelming.I’m still on my journey, still learning, still fighting. But I’m also incredibly grateful. And now I want to give back, not just for what they’ve done for me, but for the thousands of others who are still in the thick of it.By supporting the Black Dog Institute, I’m hoping to help them keep doing what they do best—changing lives, guiding people through the darkness, and reminding us we’re not alone. If my story can help even one person feel seen, or one donation can help someone like me feel supported, then it’s worth every bit. I have had a couple of set backs in the last few years with cycling and life. Right now, I’m using a cycling trainer to slowly desensitise myself and find the confidence to get back out on the road. It’s not just about riding—it’s about reclaiming something I love, at my own pace, on my terms. I can’t wait to feel the wind in my face. (Excluding bugs) 😂Thank you for standing with me, and with them. 🖤
