Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

The strongest, funniest, kindest, coolest people i know

I can wholeheartedly say that many of the strongest, funniest, kindest, coolest people I know have experienced poor mental health at some stage of their lives, or continue to struggle with it on a regular basis. It’s a health issue that doesn’t discriminate, and sadly worsens with isolation and disconnection. Something that’s all too easy to slip into in dark times. “One foot forward” is a great name for this fundraiser… Small steps in a new direction, especially in connection with good humans can be so profoundly helpful. The research and services that Black Dog Institute offer are in such high demand, and I love that their mission is to make more quality information on mental health free and accessible. And to train community health professionals, workplaces and schools on how to better support and guide those in need. Walking 100km this month is my goal.. but most importantly, my goal is to walk these KMs with family and friends, old and new. In support and solidarity with the millions of Aussies that will experience significant challenges in mental health this year alone.
