Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
We're a week out and I'm at about 20% of my fund raising target and to honest about 5% of the required fitness to be able to confidently run 150Km's during October or broken down 5k's per day. Which doesn't sound a lot so long as I am able to remain consistent.....Over the past week I've managed to dial in 20k's to start to get some kind of base level. I'm doing this support One Foot Forward challenge. I know I'm at my best when I'm in a good head space and firing. There's a saying I learnt recently that nothing can be experienced outside of our own mind. In realising that our biggest challenges, critics, naysayers in the vast majority of cases exist between our ears. The more we can overcome 'the black dog' the more power we have to live the life we want. To overcome the need to compare, to feel inadequate, unworthy. If by doing this I can make a difference to one person, show that there are tools and support out there to help break negative cycles, show some self love then the 150k's will be worth it.
