Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
I lost my beautiful daughter, Brontë (aka 'Poppy') in February 2020 to an alleged suicide.
My life and the lives of others changed forever when we had to say goodbye to our Poppy girl.
Being the generous young woman, she was, Brontë saved the lives of four people through organ donation.
Since then, my journey has been challenging, to say the very least. The 'why's' and the 'what ifs' don't leave me, nor do the vivid dreams.
Brontë should be here today, however the services engaged to support her failed her and our family.
I have made it my lot in life to effect positive changes in the coronial jurisdiction, both locally and nationally.
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my bike riding.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
Cheers, Janine xx

I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone. Losing my beautiful, Brontë Elouise Haskins, on 21st February 2020 to a reported suicide changed my life, and others forever. Nationally, suicide is at epidemic levels - this needs to stop! Please get moving, or if not, please consider donating to this amazing organisation, the Black Dog Institute. Cheers, Janine.
