Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 people experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
In fact, every day in Australia, 9 people will die by suicide.
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
I’ve experienced the devastating affects of Mental Illness and Depression at close hand and have lost good friends to suicide. I’ve also seen how challenging it can be for those loved ones who stand by your side when you are in the depths of darkness.
I’ve battled with the Black Dog and anxiety for a lot of my adult life, though often hiding it from the world like many others. The cheeky/funny side I present to the world (as in my photo) is often a cover for the deeper anxieties going on inside my head.
So to raise awareness and to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide, this October I’ll be taking part in One Foot Forward.
I’ll be walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute, so that they can put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
Much love and thank you for supporting this worthy cause.
Keith

Our struggles do not define us as a person but they shape and temper our resolve. I always remember my granny’s advice to me: “This too shall pass.. it may pass like a kidney stone but it will pass “.

I’ve experienced the devastating affects of Mental Illness at close hand and have lost people close to me to suicide. Having battled with the Black Dog for most of my adult life, I know how lonely and debilitating depression can be and how difficult it can be for those around you who love you and who want to help. That’s why I’m walking in solidarity this October to raise awareness for all those affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone.
