Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone. My first diagnosis was @ the age of 27yo. Since then I’ve navigated life with the inevitable twists and turns with the guidance of a therapist for the last 17yrs and supportive family who always have my back and the darling friends who know my story are always there to cheer me on or pick me up. Walking and hiking is a passion of mine as is being in nature. I’m addicted to climbing mountains overseas and locally and spruik the benefits of moving your body to anyone who will listen. Don’t get me wrong I still have my “wobbly” moments but my self awareness and ability to recognise signs and symptoms have stood me well to date. My future will include continuing to walk 8kms on my local beach daily or as often as I can and pat as many friendly dogs as I can! Along with booking multi day hiking holidays and getaways. This is my first time fundraising for a charity who specialises in mental health. I’ve raised for other charities but this one is a passion project for sure! I’ve already exceeded my target once so I’ll up the anti if I reach it again. It’s not even October so this fills me with hope for more donations!
