Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
I'm running 100km this October in memory of my brother, my mates — and for everyone battling the Black Dog. This is my second year taking part in the One Foot Forward challenge, and it’s something deeply personal to me. I lost my brother to mental illness, and I’ve also lost a good mate. I’ve faced my own struggles too, so I understand how hard it can be to speak up or reach out. That’s why I’m running — to honour those we’ve lost, to support those still fighting, and to help break the silence around mental health. Sadly, 1 in 5 people experience mental illness each year. Too many are still suffering in silence, without the support they need. My goal is to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most. Their work is saving lives — and making sure no one has to face mental illness alone. This challenge is more than just kilometres — it’s about starting conversations, raising awareness, and showing people that they’re not alone. Please consider sponsoring my run or sharing this message. Every step counts. Every donation helps. Every conversation could save a life. Let’s run for better mental health — for all of us. |
I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone.
