Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

Halfway there – and feeling grateful
I’ve officially made it halfway to my goal of cycling 150km in October for One Foot Forward! While I started this for one of the most important reasons to support mental health and raise both money and awareness it’s been incredible to see how much love and encouragement I’ve received along the way. Every message, donation, and kind word means the world. Another amazing part of this journey has been the personal impact it’s had on me. I’ve rediscovered my motivation to get outside, move my body, and truly enjoy exercise again. Going through a slump can be so exhausting. You feel stuck, unproductive, and it’s hard to understand why. But on the days I get out and exercise, everything feels a little bit lighter. My mind quiets down, my body feels stronger, and it’s like I can finally breathe again. There are still moments when I think, “Maybe I’ll skip today,” but then I remember why I’m doing this and that reminder gives me the push I need to keep going. I can’t believe I’m already over halfway. Here’s to the next half! One step, one cycle, one foot forward at a time. 💙 Share

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to support Australians living with mental illness. For me, this isn’t just about fundraising it’s about something much closer to home. I’ve had my own struggles with mental health, and I’ve seen the impact up close in the lives of people I care about. I continue to walk alongside those who are fighting, and I carry the memory of those who sadly couldn’t keep going. This ride is for all of them. Today, I set out on my very first ride of the challenge 🚴♂️💛 It feels motivating, knowing every kilometre is helping raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Black Dog Institute.
