Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
This October I've decided to run/walk 100km (well try and get as close as I can) to raise awareness and funds for mental health research. This is a topic very close to my heart, those who know my story know I've had to endure a lot of grief from an early age after losing both parents by the time I was 24. Unfortunately my mental health has had a lot of ups and downs over the years and although I've been able to manage it a bit better I still find I go through periods of time where I struggle alot with depression and anxiety. Over the last few months I've found running and walking has really helped me clear my mind from those unwanted feelings, so I thought it was only fitting to give this challenge a go and hopefully help motivate others to get out and do some more steps too xxx
