A quiet walk toward reflection

After several sun-drenched days, today’s cloud cover and light breeze felt like an invitation to slow down. It was the perfect time to wander along the Brisbane River’s winding path toward New Farm. I left my headphones behind, choosing instead the quiet company of my thoughts and the soft shuffle of my own footsteps. In that silence, I found myself reflecting on those dear to me who have carried the invisible weight of mental health challenges—storms that often pass unnoticed, yet leave deep and lasting marks. I’m grateful to witness the world slowly shifting—towards openness, towards understanding, towards healing. We still have a long way to go. But every conversation, every moment of awareness, is a step forward.

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them. 

This October, our team is taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

We're walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
