Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

A couple of non walking days to focus on family and work culminating in our first public event at the winery and 9km walking while on the job. Not surprisingly my body was quite sore yesterday but this morning there was nothing stopping me.

Night time walk in between “showers”

Got home from work intending to do another 2km walk in daylight however the rain had other ideas. Found a small break and hit the road only to arrive home suitably wet but sporting my new t-shirt (see photo).

Walk while your work

Another 2km recorded from just BAU at work. Time to head home and get another walk in.

Day one - its raining!!!

How easy would it have been to just say “fuck it” and wait until tomorrow to start!!! Wet gear on, headphones on, catching up on the Kelce Brothees New Heights podcast, and off I go. Following the old route I regularly walked with Bambi, our cockerspaniel, before she passed back in 2020. Just over 2km done in around 40 minutes. Plan is to keep living at work today (vineyard walk) and then top up tonight to try and set a gettable goal for each walking day.
