Why i'm supporting one foot forward

This October, I’ve pledged to walk/cycle 40kms and join my team “Ache It Till We Make It” in support of the Black Dog Institute. For me, this is about more than just putting one foot in front of the other, it’s about standing up for mental health awareness in Australia. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate. It touches every community, every family, and so many individuals silently struggling each day. The Black Dog Institute plays a crucial role in changing that story by driving world-class research, offering life-saving education programs, and creating tools that genuinely help people through their toughest times. Walking 40kms is a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by those living with depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. I’m walking to start conversations, to break down stigma, and to remind anyone who feels alone that support is out there, and that their life matters. By supporting this walk, I’m not only honouring the resilience of those fighting their own battles but also helping to fund initiatives that will make a real difference across the country. Every step I take is a step towards hope, connection, and stronger mental health support for all Australians.

Support Our Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This October, our team is taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

We're walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support our walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
