πŸ’œπŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’› 100 km. Four Friends. One Meaningful Cause. πŸ’œπŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’›

Four friends. One shared mission. Every step counts. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸšΆπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’›

When we first signed up for the Black Dog Institute’s One Foot Forward challenge, our goal was to walk a combined *100 km* throughout October. But in September, we smashed that milestone! πŸŽ‰

Then 1 October came, and the challenge reset to zero. Did we slow down? Nope! πŸ˜‚

πŸ“ As of 25 October, we’ve clocked up another incredible 269 km together! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ”₯

With just six days left, could we push ourselves even further and reach 300 km by 31 October? That’s another 31 km to go β€” and we’d love your support to get there! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’¨

But this challenge is about so much more than kilometres. It’s about raising awareness, encouraging conversations and helping reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. 🧑

πŸ’› The reality is that mental health challenges affect people everywhere. Around 1 in 5 Australians experience mental illness each year, and mental health challenges are also a significant concern in Malaysia. Behind every statistic is a real person, a family and a story that deserves compassion, understanding and support.

We’re walking for those who are struggling, those who may be suffering in silence, and those who need a reminder that they’re not alone. Every step helps support the Black Dog Institute’s work in mental health research and suicide prevention.

πŸ™ How can you help?
🧑 Cheer us on as we chase our 300 km goal!
🧑 Share this post to help spread awareness.
🧑 If you’re able, make a donation to support mental health research and prevention.

Every step, every share and every contribution makes a difference.

Let’s keep moving, keep talking and keep breaking the stigma β€” one foot forward at a time. 🐾🧑

πŸ’œπŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’› 100 km. Four Friends. One Meaningful Cause. πŸ’œπŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’›

This October, Jacklyn, Rebecca, Melissa and Rhiannon are joining forces to walk a total of 100 km as part of **One Foot Forward**, alongside many others supporting the **Black Dog Institute**. πŸ‘ŸπŸ’™

The Black Dog Institute is dedicated to the prevention, early detection and treatment of common mental health conditions, as well as suicide prevention. Through research, practical programs and digital tools, their work helps turn discoveries into meaningful, accessible support for people when they need it most.

Mental health challenges know no borders. In Australia, 1 in 5 people experience mental illness each year, while in Malaysia, nearly 1 in 3 adults (29.2%) have experienced mental health issues. Young people are particularly vulnerable, with many mental health difficulties emerging early in life. Yet in both countries, too many people still go without the professional help and support they need.

These numbers represent real people β€” our families, friends, colleagues and communities. That’s why every kilometre we walk is about more than reaching 100 km. It’s about raising awareness, starting conversations, reducing stigma and reminding people that seeking support matters. 🌻

100 km. Four friends. One step at a time towards brighter days. πŸ‘ŸπŸ’™

Please help us make every step count by supporting our team, donating if you can, and spreading the word. Together, even the smallest steps can contribute to meaningful change. πŸ’•

Support Our Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, our team is taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

We're walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support our walk.

Together, we canΒ create better mental health for all Australians.
