Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Day 10

A walk around the lake (all 5 of us today!) with our friend Coops. We went slowly today and stopped just before the end to have a drink and ice creams at The Jetty. Sunshine, fresh air and plenty of glimmers spotted on this walk. Grateful for time spent with family and friends where we can laugh and share stories and memories of Eddie. 🩵

Day 9

Forgot to take a pic today, so a baby pic right before our walk it is! Walked 2.4km with my beautiful neighbour and 2 of the kids.

Day 8

Family walk for today of 2.7km. So good for the soul, especially today. We chatted, laughed, reminisced and admired all the plants along the way.

Day 7

Bit off more than I could chew here! Took 2 dogs and the kids for a walk and managed 1.3km around the block!

Day 6

Lovely little neighborhood stroll with the kids on bikes (and baby asleep in the pram!). Stopped for a snack and drink break and a play at the park near home.

Day 4

Day 4 of One Foot Forward and this felt like the walk my mind and soul needed today. I woke up and felt heavy, the Eddie shaped hole in my heart seemed huge. Flossie and I walked slowly, chatting to each other the whole way. We stopped to have a long chat to some of our amazing neighbours, picked little flowers from the side walks (sorry neighbourhood!) and stopped for a coffee at the local shops on the final stretch of our walk. 2.7km added to my tally for the month and the realisation that it won’t be about the kms for me at 10 weeks postpartum, but the fresh air, the sunshine, the connection, and the intention behind each and every one of my steps. 🩵

Day 3

Another 5km walk doing bridge to bridge. Joined by Mum and the two dogs Inga and Sonny (Sonny belonged to Eddie). Might’ve been slower than the walk with the kids on bikes, but was lovely to chat and remember Ed along the way. We were very much hurried along at the end by an imminent storm!!!

Day 1

Lake walk with 3 kids (2 on bikes), 3 adults and 2 dogs! 1 stop for doggos to have a drink and 1 stop for snacks, water and boob! Bumped into some familiar faces, including Uncle Raf who was getting her steps in too! No complaints, lots of chatting and giggles, but most importantly it felt good to be out walking for a wonderful cause. Thinking of you always Ed 🩵
