Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Day 8

What an absolute ripper of a morning it was today. Did a smidge later start due to a later start at work, so I was able to see the sun rise as I started.

7 days down…

Hit the old “Runners wall” today during an arvo run - then MMMbop came on my playlist which inspired me to get through another 3ks - which helped me clock over 100ks for the month. I’m proud of this achievement so early into the month.

Day 2

Yesterday pissed me off - Mother Nature didn’t want me to kick the month off in style - I was planning a 4-5K walk in the arvo - but it kept pissing down. it was upsetting me and things like that really tick me off - normally it will start cooking my mental health, but as the journey I’m on - I took a deep breath, said it’s not my fault and soldiered on. plan for some big walks over the weekend when the weather is back pumping. thanks for reading

Day 1

5.01am get up and do the work. Heads been in a bit of spin of late (Not black dog stuff) but a lot happening. Getting up early, going for a long walk - with a slight drizzle is bloody awesome. 11.49ks in the bank.

Getting to work with you during footy season was such a privilege and created such a fun experience during some dark times in my life, and now seeing you advocate in the mental health space has been very inspiring. I was never meant to make it to 21. Over the years, ive attempted about 5 times and somehow got through it all. But im proud to be here, finally on the up. I remember seeing you speak up about your experiences around the time i had been hospitalised in canada. To see someone talking about this so openly has given more courage in my day to day. Youre doing incredible work mate, its amazing to see. Im sorry i cant donate more right now, but i support this 1 million percent.
