👣💚 More than halfway through the month, one step at a time! We’re over halfway through October, and every step taken for One Foot Forward is a reminder that small actions can make a big difference. Some days are easy, others are challenging, but every walk is an opportunity to clear the mind, reconnect with ourselves, and keep moving forward. And that’s what this challenge is all about — raising awareness, supporting mental health research, and reminding everyone that they’re not alone. 💚 Whether you’re walking beside someone, checking in on a friend, sharing a message, or making a donation, your support matters. For me, for the ones I love, and for you ❤️ Let’s keep going, keep talking, and keep showing up for mental health. Every step counts, and together we can make a difference. 👣 #OneFootForward #MentalHealthMatters #EveryStepMatters #YouAreNotAlone #MentalHealthResearch 💚

Support my walk for mental health research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year? This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide. I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most. It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk. Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

👣 today’s walk: good company, good conversations, and new discoveries! 🌿☀️

Today’s walk was a little different, and even better because a friend joined me! 😊 We explored Centennial Park, enjoyed the beautiful weather, had some great chats, and took in all the sights along the way. It was his first time visiting the park, so I got to play tour guide, sharing my little hints, tips, and all the interesting things I know about the place. 😎🤣 Who knew I’d be giving guided tours now? There was so much to see, plenty of places to explore, and lots of laughs along the way. Sometimes, a walk is about more than just getting your steps in. It’s about connecting with people, discovering new places, sharing experiences, and enjoying the moment. Fresh air, good company, great conversations, and another beautiful day well spent. ❤️🌳 One step at a time, one conversation at a time, and one beautiful moment at a time 👣 #OneFootForward #MentalHealthMatters #WalkingTogether #CentennialPark #GoodCompany #EveryStepMatters 💚

A 🐈‍⬛ walk

HAHAHA 🤣🤣 Once you see it, you can't unsee it! 🐱 My Centennial Park walk today has turned into a giant cat! 😂 The head is at the top, the ears are pointing up, and the body wraps all the way around the park. Even the little paws are there! 🐾 150 km for mental health research, one paw… I mean, one FOOT forward at a time! 👣🐈 Centennial Park: where even your walking routes have a CAT-titude! 🤣

Story of an electric bike 🤣

☀️🚲 A date with myself… and an electric bike that clearly had other plans! 🤣😂 Today was one of those special days to get out and about, enjoy my own company, and reconnect with myself. And let me tell you… I had an absolute blast! 🤣 I decided to hire one of those electric bikes and give it a go. Easy enough, right? Jump on, ride, enjoy the scenery, and park it when you’re done. Simple! 😎 WRONG! 😂😂😂 I found the bike in a remote car park near the beach, had a lovely ride, and when it was time to finish, the app kept telling me that every single place I tried to park was NOT an authorised parking spot. 🤦‍♂️🤣 Fast-forward 30 minutes, and guess who was still riding around trying to find a legal parking spot? 🙋‍♂️😂 Turns out, the designated parking area was about 20 minutes away… so off I went! 🚴‍♂️🤣 At that point, I wasn’t sure if I was enjoying a relaxing day out or training for the Tour de France! 😂🏆 But hey, mission accomplished! Bike returned, sanity mostly intact, and plenty of memories to laugh about. 🤣 Sometimes, the best adventures happen when you’re on your own. No plans, no expectations, just you, a little fresh air, a few unexpected challenges, and the freedom to enjoy your own company. ❤️ So, I hope everyone is doing well! Remember to take some time for yourself, get out there, enjoy life, and reconnect with that beautiful person you sometimes forget to look after… YOURSELF! ❤️✨ Because connecting with your inner self is priceless. And apparently, so is finding an authorised parking spot! 🤣🤣🤣 Have a beautiful day, everyone! 🥰☀️

The thunderstorm that never came

Today’s walk came with a little rain, a few threatening clouds, and plenty of ups and downs — literally! 😂⛰️ With music in my ears, I switched off from work, cleared my mind, and took some time to reconnect with myself. It wasn’t an easy walk, with challenging hills along the way, but I kept going and made it back safely. 💪 Sometimes, it’s not about how fast we walk or how far we go. It’s about giving ourselves permission to slow down, breathe, disconnect from the world, and reconnect with who we are. ❤️ One step at a time, one hill at a time, and always moving forward. #OneFootForward 👣 #MentalHealthMatters #150kmChallenge

A walk without headphones

Today, I walked without headphones 😊 No music, no distractions, just me and the sounds of nature 🐦🌿 I listened to the birds singing, felt the wind on my face, and took in the beautiful scenery around me. For once, I wasn’t lost in my thoughts or rushing through the kilometres. I was present, noticing the little things that often go unnoticed. I felt connected to everything happening around me, appreciating each moment as it came. Sometimes, the best way to switch off from the world is to stop blocking it out and simply listen. Today wasn’t just about walking kilometres. It was about reconnecting with nature, with the present moment, and with myself. One step at a time, one breath at a time 👣💚 #OneFootForward #MentalHealthMatters #MindfulWalking #NatureHeals

Turning my story into someone else’s hope

Life doesn’t always take us down the path we imagined. Sometimes, it leaves us with scars we can see, and sometimes with scars that nobody else can. I’m taking part in One Foot Forward because this cause means something personal to me. As a burn survivor, I know what it’s like to have life change in ways you never expected. The physical scars are only one part of the journey. There are also the emotional challenges that can come with learning to accept yourself, rebuild your confidence and keep moving forward. At different points in my life, I’ve also experienced depression. I don’t share that for sympathy, but because I believe talking about mental health can make someone else feel a little less alone. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone else understands can be the first step towards asking for help. That’s why I’m putting one foot forward literally and metaphorically. Every step I take is about spreading awareness, starting conversations and helping raise funds for a cause that supports people who may be facing battles we cannot see. I know that one person can’t change everything. But I also believe change doesn’t always start with something huge. Sometimes, it starts with one step. One conversation. One person checking in. One decision to keep going. One small act of kindness. And then another. So, throughout One Foot Forward, I’ll be walking with a little more purpose — carrying my own experiences with me while helping create awareness and support for others. My scars are part of my story, but they don’t define me. My past is part of my journey, but it doesn’t decide where I’m going. And every step forward is a reminder that there is always a reason to keep moving. If sharing my story encourages even one person to speak up, reach out or realise they’re not alone, then every step will be worth it. This is my One Foot Forward. What will yours be? ❤️
