I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone. Mental illness has affected me through my life. It is not a quick fix or one and done process. Even when we are flying high or achieving our goals it always is hiding in the shadows or deepest parts of our minds and hearts. I recently had to readdress my own mental health and reach out for help. It was a hard decision to make. It doesn't make me weak.. Completely the opposite it took strength to say I'm not OK and need help.. And it was the best decision I've made in many years because while I'm still newly into my journey (not my first) I feel better than I have in years. It's easy to lie to others but MOSTLY to ourselves and be in major denial.... Particularly as women we put our partners, children and family first... And as long as everyone else is happy I'm happy.... Even when we are far from it... Ultimately it leaves us exhausted and feeling like we don't matter or selfish for feeling this way. I know my mental health is something I will need to monitor and re address my whole life time. And that's OK... Because I'm worth it...

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
