Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
My Updates
Day 22 second walk
Got another 21.5km to make 30km for the day. My best distance for the month and very happy because I’m not sure they’ll be a 3 or 4 hour period free this coming weekend with lots of work to do 😃 Share
Day 22
after being unable to get a walk in on day 21 due to work commitments, personal commitments and whether I decided to get in a morning walk and depending on how the day pans out, an evening walk later on today as well Share
Day 20
16 more kms tonight after another big day at school followed by councillor workshops. great to start eating into the 200’s with only 11 days to go with several possible rainy days and a conference amongst those 11 days. 😃 Share
Day 16
Day 14
Another 15km takes me to 172km …. I’m on track to the goal of 300km for October 😃😃 Share
Day 13
Day 12
I’m almost at 50% half way toward my goal of 300km 😃😃 Share
After first 11 days
Completed 136kms in the first 11 days. the next couple of days will be a little lean with work commitments but eager to continue to be on top of my walks as I aim for 300km in October. Share
Day 9
Started the day working on a few work related things, including a visit to a work place, but while doing that I thought given I parked a little further away let’s make these steps count hence the short 2 km walk. But rest assured there will be a longer walk later on tonight.😃 Share
Day 3
that’s day free walk done, a little chafing today. I think I might have to get myself some in a tights just to help that out LOL but it’s all worth it for Mental Health month and to raise awareness of mental health throughout our communities. 😃 Share
Day 2
October 1st
today is my first day as part of my quest to reach at least 300 km for the month. It was a day full of work commitments so time to walk was hard to find. A full day at work followed by a dinner with the UNE for myself going for a walk around the CBD of Tamworth after dinner in trousers and shirt and dress shoes LOL but 4 km done and I’m off and racing.😃 ShareMy impact over 2 years
