Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

Mental health walk

One Foot Forward — 162+ km for Mental Health On 30 September 2026, I’m taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life — walking 162+ kilometres in one go, from Armstrong Creek to Warrnambool, as part of my One Foot Forward journey. I’m not doing this just for the distance. I’m doing it because mental health has affected my life, my family and my journey as a father for many years. Back in 2012, my life changed. I experienced a mental health crisis that led to hospitalisation, depression and years of struggling to understand what was happening to me. Over the years, I’ve faced periods where I felt completely disconnected from myself, my family and the people I love. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve made bad choices trying to numb the pain. But I’m still here. And now I want to turn everything I’ve been through into something positive. My children have been apart from me for close to nine years, and that separation has had a massive impact on me. I worry about what the experience has meant for them too. That is one of the biggest reasons I’m doing this walk. I’m walking for dads. I’m walking for kids. I’m walking for families. I’m walking for people who are struggling silently. I want to help start bigger conversations about mental health — conversations based on real stories, science, understanding and compassion. On 30/09/2026, I’ll put one foot in front of the other for more than 162 km. I’m asking anyone who can to support me with a donation to One Foot Forward. Every donation, every share and every bit of encouragement helps me turn this challenge into something bigger than myself. If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, sharing this post could be just as powerful. Thank you for supporting me on this journey. One foot forward. One step at a time. ❤️ Donate/support my walk: "Dads Striking Back — Still Family" https://chrismuzic-5a6znoed.manus.space
