I am walking this month as an act of gratitude to those who stood by my side during my heartbreaking journey with mental health. All I can do is give back, make a difference and help other survivors know that they are loved and never alone in their daily struggles 💜

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

A fine way to finish 🐚

I am sitting here overlooking the marina in Hervey Bay, celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. Every step I have taken during this challenge has been designed around completing it here, in one of my favourite places. Where Whales play and the Mary River meets the sea. My heart is filled with love and gratitude for the moments and the steps. My first adventure without the burden of stigma, over medication or being numb. I am more alive than ever and am seeing the world through new eyes. There is intention and purpose in my soul, a time to give back and follow my bliss with those I love.. and I love beyond measure. Thank you to everyone who supported me with donations, words, hugs and steps. October isn’t over, it’s the end of an era but the start of an age. I was put here to do big things 💜🌀💜

100 km

I have had the best time smashing out 100km! The very best part is getting to share the walking and love with everyone who joined me along the way 😊 there have been birds, trees, a river and a lake, Nambour and back again, Jacarandas, Spring, all of the things that remind you what being ALIVE feels like. We have had amazing conversations about things that matter, nothing in particular but mostly about how we love each other soooo much. It is truly wonderful to be a part of such a beautiful family that we chose for ourselves! And the people who couldn’t walk the FIRST hundred with me on the sidelines offering so much support and genuine care. You all matter more than words can say. I’ve got some MND tramping to do but is that the end? I say NAH SON! It’s only the beginning…

1 week ~ 80km

Well! Wow! What a week it has been! I got to spend some amazing time out in the Sunshine with my favourite person ( my Husband of course ) We have been tramping all over Gympie in the Sunshine, watching Nature do her thing. Jacaranda season YAY! We have met some lovely people along the way, had loads of dogs to pat and shared stories and hugs 🤗 making sure every day is packed with movement. forward into the fantastic future. Stay tuned, it isn’t over yet and we really aren’t the type of people to just stop once goals are reached! who knows what we can achieve. Thank you again and again for all of the kind words and encouragement, it’s been the fuel for this fire 🔥 P.S Glen went all over Gympie to find me a cake to celebrate the week and I got a delicious passion fruit cheesecake Nom Nom 🤤

Donating steps and adding to my goal!

Tonight, I was watching Jai Arrow before the NRL Grandfinal and suddenly, any stretch of my abilities I have felt during this challenge disappears before me. I am humbled. so I donate my 12.6km today to everyone who is battling MND, upped my walking goal to 113km to show solidarity and in loving memory of Neale Daniher and Jai Arrow, may he never walk alone. This walk I’m doing is for love and for those suffering from Severe Mental Health issues. I can’t even imagine what these amazing people go through.

Came out swinging 🌟

Happy October 1 and welcome to a month long journey of growth, adventure, tramping and sharing the love with you all! Finally, it’s arrived and true to my word, this is an absolute window into my life. I was dedicated to making today really count and at 3.30pm this afternoon I decided to look at my faithful Garmin and YAY! 10km. A great day walking, dancing, non stop moving, lightness of heart and spirit. To all of my sponsors and people who care in general, this one’s for you 💜🌀💜 sooooo very grateful for your support. I am changing the World one step at a time. Intention and intuition guide my path. Commited to the journey and the amazing month ahead. I am definitely celebrating 🎉 tomorrow with cake because it’s all about finding your rhythm and your balance. Also, I thought that I would drop this bit of news.. I have lost 12kg since March. Pretty stoked. Told you, living my best life and it’s fantastic. Hopefully you all had a brilliant day too! All the love and groovy vibes 😁

Counting down

Suddenly, everything is very real. I’m actually committed and excited, anxious and a little afraid. I know in myself that this means I am about to do something amazing for the people I love and a little for myself. I’m not out to prove anything except give a raw and honest snapshot of my life and my journey to get here. Hopefully, it touches hearts and perhaps allows people to be less afraid of sharing their daily struggles, we all have them. Right now, while I’m preparing to walk, dance, sing and share my way through October, I am coming off the last and most dangerous drug I was prescribed. To give some perspective, it will take me two years to come off. I am still dealing with anxiety and daily pressures but the thing I am most proud of, is that I’ve faced my mental health issues head on. Every week I show up to my Therapist and go to places that scare me, wound me and devastate me. To be able to talk about what my life presented me with is a struggle within itself. Anyone who knows me well enough will know that I was born a fighter because I had to be. The beautiful life I live now was hard won and not my battle alone. I have my family who could have turned their backs on me more than once and friends, even strangers who become your biggest champions. Dark places cannot stay that way forever for me and I still visit them now and then but I am resilient because of love quite simply, the love that has been shown, we are in this together. Mental health struggles are so different and individual for the people I love. This is my love letter to them, this journey is to show them and all of you what genuine love can do. It lets light in. I am going to promise you one thing through October, I am starting a tiny riot. All of the years I have kept quiet are but a thing of the past. I have so much to offer, with words and actions. I will always show up and give you the most honest version of me because it’s so easy to do when you have experienced every flavour of the human condition.

Making my way 💜

Hello beautiful people! First update, I have posted a couple of movement examples to show you what I do most days. I will keep showing you pieces leading up to October, as every progress entry gets deleted so the 13,000 people and I all start at the same time. October 1, 2026. You will see my accountability as I go as I will post some screenshots of my daily metrics. Hope all of you are well and also doing things you love ❤️

It begins

When I was recently sent the email from the BDI it captured my attention and I realised that I was finally at a point in my life where I could give back and this was the perfect opportunity. If you stand for nothing, you fall for anything. what I didn’t expect was the beautiful people in my life helping my goal become practically a reality in just one day. There is so much beauty in the World. I will do them proud. I will do myself proud. I am beyond excited to get those km up! watch this space 😊🙌🎉
