Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
My Story
I’m taking part in the One Foot Forward Walking Challenge to raise awareness and support for mental health because this cause is deeply personal to me. I live with Dysthymia, also known as Persistent Depressive Disorder. It’s a long-term form of depression that can make even the simplest tasks feel heavy and overwhelming. Unlike major depressive episodes, dysthymia often lingers quietly in the background, making it harder for others to notice—but it’s always there.
Why I’m Walking
Walking is more than just exercise for me—it’s a way to reclaim control, find clarity, and remind myself that progress is possible, one step at a time. Every kilometre I walk is a statement: that mental health matters, that small steps add up, and that no one should feel alone in their struggle.
My Goal
I’m walking to raise funds for mental health programs and to break the stigma around conditions like dysthymia. If my story encourages even one person to seek help or feel less isolated, then every step will be worth it.
How You Can Help
