Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
My Updates
Why i’m putting one foot forward ❤️
This October, I’m challenging myself to walk 150km for One Foot Forward, raising money for mental health. For me, this isn’t just a challenge or a number of kilometres I want to reach. It’s deeply personal.
Mental health has affected my own life, and I’ve seen firsthand how much it can affect the people we love. I’ve had my own struggles with mental health, I’ve watched family members struggle, and heartbreakingly, I’ve lost family members and friends.

Those losses stay with you.
They’re part of the reason I feel so strongly about doing this challenge and speaking openly about mental health. There are so many people struggling every single day, and often we have absolutely no idea what someone is carrying behind closed doors.
• Sometimes people stay silent because they’re scared of being judged.
• Sometimes they don’t want to feel like a burden.
• Sometimes they convince themselves that they should just be able to deal with it on their own.
But nobody should have to struggle in silence.
I want people to know that speaking up doesn’t make you weak, asking for help doesn’t make you a burden and saying “I’m not okay” is nothing to be ashamed of.
We need to be able to talk about mental health in the same way we talk about our physical health. We need to check in with our friends and family, not just asking “How are you?” in passing, but genuinely being there to listen when the answer isn’t “I’m fine.”
That’s what these 150km mean to me.
Every step I take throughout October will be for someone who is struggling right now. It will be for my own journey, for my family, for my friends, and especially for the people I’ve lost who I wish were still here today.
I can’t change what has happened, but I can do something now, I can walk, I can raise awareness, I can talk openly about something that too many people still feel they have to hide, and hopefully, I can raise some money along the way to support work in mental health and help other people get the support they need.
So if you’re able to, I would genuinely appreciate any donation, no matter how big or small. It would mean more to me than you probably realise.
But even if you can’t donate, please do one thing for me, check in on someone you care about.
- Send the message
- Make the phone call
- Have the conversation
And if you’re the person who’s struggling, please speak to someone. You deserve to be heard.
I’m walking 150km this October for everyone fighting a battle others can’t see, for the people who love and support them, and in memory of the family and friends I’ve lost.
One foot forward, one conversation at a time. ❤️
