Haylee & Taj

Haylee & Taj

A tribute for Everyone taking control of their Mental Health even when they just feel numb to it all.

I’m walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone. Taj and I will be thinking of everyone who didn't win the fight and who are still battling. We love you. Stay strong! x

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Why am i doing this?

Hi everyone!
Taj and I have decided to push ourselves even further — we’ll be walking 40kms! We’re only a few weeks out now and feeling super excited (and a little nervous), but that’s all part of the journey.

I wanted to share why this fundraiser means so much to me, and why it’s more personal than just supporting a charity.

I’ve struggled with my mental health for many years. For a long time, I tried to ignore it. I went from counsellor to counsellor and felt like nothing really worked — until earlier this year, when I finally connected with an amazing woman who made me feel truly heard for the first time.

Since then, I’ve started to feel stronger mentally. But like anyone, I still have my tough days. Sometimes that looks like me going really quiet (which is unusual for me!), or being overly talkative to cover up the fact I’m not okay. Over the last couple of months, I’ve learned something important: it’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to reach out. Mental illness doesn’t get to define me.

This isn’t a “pity me” post and it’s not about guilt-tripping anyone into donating. It’s about speaking up, breaking the stigma, and reminding us all that mental health is something we should be able to talk about openly.

Whether you donate or not, thank you for taking the time to read my story. Now you know why I’m walking, and why I’m proud to be part of this fundraiser.

Get keen for September!🥰

Ps. Keep an eye out for some vlogs on my Tiktok. I'll be talking about my own stories about Mental Health and talking about the topic. And just some fun post!
