Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

💙 one foot forward — 60km this october 💙

This October, I’m taking part in the One Foot Forward Challenge, walking 60km throughout the month to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. This challenge is incredibly close to my heart. Mental health has been a huge part of my own life for many years. I know what it feels like to struggle with your own mind, to have days that feel heavier than others, and to have to keep putting one foot in front of the other even when it feels incredibly hard. But mental health has affected my life in ways far beyond my own struggles. In 2017, I lost my dad to suicide. That is a loss that has stayed with me and shaped so much of who I am today. I have also stood beside some of the people I love most as they have faced their own mental health struggles. I’ve seen just how much someone can be carrying behind a smile, a laugh, a normal day or a simple “I’m fine.” So this October, every kilometre I walk means something to me. I’m walking for my dad. I’m walking for my friends. I’m walking for myself. I’m walking for the people who are struggling silently. I’m walking for the people we have lost. And I’m walking for the people who are still here, putting one foot forward every single day. 💙 My goal is 60km across October, representing the approximately 60,000 people around the world who die by suicide each month. If you are in a position to donate, even a few dollars would mean more to me than you know. Every donation goes towards supporting mental health initiatives and helping make sure that people who are struggling have somewhere to turn. And if you can’t donate, sharing this post or simply checking in on someone you love is just as meaningful. Mental health is something we need to keep talking about. Nobody should ever feel like they have to carry everything alone. Here’s to 60km, one foot in front of the other. For Dad, for the people I love, for myself, and for every person who needs a reminder to keep going. 💙 If you’d like to support my 60km, my donation link is below. Any amount, big or small, is so incredibly appreciated. Immy 🤍
