I make this pledge from a place of personal experience. I know what it feels like to have your mental health become something you have to work through, and I know how much strength it can take just to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I’ve also watched friends face their own struggles, and I know how deeply mental illness can affect not only the person going through it, but everyone who loves them. That’s why I’m taking these 40km. Every step is for the people who are struggling right now, for the people who have been there and made it through, for the friends and families standing beside them, and for those we have lost. I pledge to keep speaking openly about mental health, to listen without judgement, and to remind people that struggling does not make you weak and asking for help does not make you a burden. Sometimes all we can do is take the next step. So that’s what I’m doing — one foot forward, one step at a time. ❤️🐾 For anyone struggling: you matter. You are not a burden. And your story isn’t finished.

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

One step at a time together

This October, I’m putting one foot in front of the other and taking on a 40km challenge for mental health research. For me, mental health isn’t just a statistic or something that happens to other people. I know from my own experience how much mental health can affect a person and the people around them. I’ve also watched friends struggle with their own mental health journeys, and I’ve seen how important understanding, support and having the right resources can be. Mental health struggles don’t always look the way people expect them to. Sometimes people are struggling behind a smile, while still going to work, looking after their families and carrying on with everyday life. That’s one of the reasons I decided to take part in One Foot Forward. My goal is to walk 40km throughout October while raising $1,000 for mental health research. Forty kilometres might sound like a lot — and honestly, some days it probably will feel like it! 😂 But every kilometre is a reminder that progress doesn’t have to happen all at once. Sometimes you just have to take the next step. Then another. And another. If you’d like to support me, even a small donation can help. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing my fundraiser or simply cheering me on means just as much. This challenge is about more than kilometres. It’s about recognising that mental health affects real people — our families, our friends, our workmates and ourselves. I’m taking these 40km for everyone who has struggled, everyone who has supported someone through a difficult time, and everyone who needs better understanding and better access to mental health support. So, I’m putting my shoes on, taking a deep breath, and taking 40km — one foot forward at a time. 🐾❤️ Thank you to everyone who supports me, whether that’s through a donation, a share, encouragement, or simply following along with my journey.
