Support my walk for mental health research
This October i’ll be walking 60km to raise money for Mental Health ✨ Mental health can look like a rainy day one minute and sunshine the next. It can creep in slowly or, in my case, can show up unexpectedly at 10:30am on a Sunday morning in May. What started, for me, as feeling a little bit anxious, quickly turned into severe and debilitating panic attacks. In a split second it felt like I went from a confident, type A, independent person to someone who couldn’t even drop her kids off at school. Fast forward to today. While I still have daily battles with my brain - I have come so far in my management of it. But that wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support I had. My husband. My GP. My family. My friends. My colleagues. My Psychologist. A wealth of people and support I was so fortunate to have, because so many people don’t. Black Dog Institute works to provide better solutions, services, products, programs and understanding of mental health in Australia. They want the best information they have available to be in the hands of the people who need it. To help themselves, their friends and family, their students, their workplaces, and their communities.
