I celebrate ME! For the past few months, I've lived with mental health struggles that brought me to my knees. I've isolated myself from the world, shut people out, and convinced myself that nobody would understand. There were times when I truly believed the world would be better without me. I came dangerously close to taking my own life. I've sat in countless doctors' offices, psychiatrist appointments, drug and alcohol services, and tried medication after medication, desperately searching for something that would quiet the pain inside my head. Some days I felt like I was surviving. Other days, I wasn't sure I even wanted to. But somehow... I'm still here. Not because the journey has been easy, but because people refused to give up on me, even when I'd given up on myself. That's why this October I'm taking part in One Foot Forward, walking 50 kilometres to raise money for mental health research. It could be more, some days its a struggle for me to leave the house. Every kilometre I walk represents every battle fought in silence... every tear hidden behind a smile... every person we've lost too soon... and every person who's still fighting to see tomorrow. Mental illness doesn't always leave visible scars, but the pain is real. If you're reading this and you're struggling, please hear me when I say this: It's OK not to be OK. You are not weak. You are not broken. And you are never alone, no matter how much your mind tries to convince you otherwise. Please reach out. Talk to someone. Let people in. Your story isn't over yet. I'm walking because I know what it feels like to believe there is no way out. I'm walking because I'm surviving. I'm walking for those we have lost. And I'm walking so that one day, fewer families have to experience the heartbreak that mental illness leaves behind.

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

I celebrate me!

This isn't easy to write, but if sharing my story helps even one person, then it's worth it. I've lived with mental health struggles that brought me to my knees. Together we can help fund research, raise awareness, start conversations, and remind people that hope is always worth holding onto. One foot forward. One conversation. One life at a time. 🟣 ⚫️
