Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My why....

This is my fourth year of doing the "One Foot Forward Challenge". I have two gorgeous children and really struggled mentally after the birth of my first child in 2018, I actually suffered postnatal psychosis. ( If you don't know - it's an emergency that causes a sudden loss of touch with reality shortly after childbirth. It affects about 1 in every 1,000 mothers and is very different from the common "baby blues" or postnatal depression). Which happened on about day 10 after birth (The October long weekend I always think about it, as just after was where I got treatment in Burwood with Matt & William for three weeks). I feel all good now, and love both my children to bits. I do feel motherhood can sometimes be a big challenge and we all can struggle to keep on top of daily life! I just always wanted to get behind a cause that speaks to me and if walking / maybe jogging is going to help someone else know that they aren't alone. I love that it makes me feel better physically and I get to get our to clear my own head. It also raises awareness for everyday Australians. Know you aren't alone and I am here if anyone wants to chat 🥰
