Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
My Updates
Keep showing up
Hey everyone, Some of you may remember I walked for One Foot Forward last year. This year I've double my fundraising goal and kilometres challenge - my goal is to raise $1000 and move [walking, riding, rowing] 100km by the 1st of November. As probably all of you know, I've suffered from mental health challenges all my life. This past year, even this past month, has been the hardest to date. I feel like my family has been through so much, and life keeps getting harder, but I also know I'm one of the lucky ones. I have family, friends, and doctors who help me survive everyday. I'm moving and raising funds so that others can receive the same care that I do. So that they know they are not alone. So that they know they are not a burden. So that they know its okay if their life isn't where they thought it would be. I'm also walking to try and over come my agoraphobia which has gotten bad again. If I can't leave the house for me, I can do it for others. I know what its like to feel like you're taking all the prescribed medications, doing all the therapies, seeing all the specialists, and it still doesn't feel like enough to fix you. Realising you need help and allowing someone in in your most vulnerable moments takes courage. Realising you need help and reaching out is one of the strongest things you can ever do. No one is meant to suffer alone. I'm walking this October so that no one has to. Please donate if you can - I know times are tough. If you want to join me on a walk, I'd love that too.
