100KM FOR THE BLACK DOG INSTITUTE 🧡🖤

This October, I’m taking on the challenge of running 100 kilometres to raise money for the Black Dog Institute and support the important work they do in mental health.

I’m doing this challenge because I believe running is just as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. I’m sure there will be days when I don’t feel like running, days when it’s the last thing I want to do. I’m lucky to be able to run and move my body when there are people wishing they could do this. We take it for granted ... I know I do.

Mental health is so bloody important, and I believe we need to have deeper and more honest conversations about it.
Too often, we brush things off with “yeah, I’m good” or “she’ll be right” when people are struggling behind the scenes. 

Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 - 44. To be only the age 22 and already know so many people personally, or know of people who have ended their own lives, is heartbreaking.

Farming and living in remote areas can bring their own challenges, and people living and working on the land can experience additional pressures and isolation. 

I think it’s important that we talk about these things rather than keeping them to ourselves. There is help available, and there is no shame in reaching out.

Everyone has their own struggles, whether they’re visible to others or happening inside their own head. 

Throughout October, I’ll be working towards my 100km goal while raising money and awareness for mental health. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small. Even $1 can make a difference.

Week 2 recap!

Busted knees, weather heating up and my pace getting quicker by the day!! Ahhh what a life 🌞🏃‍♀️💪🏼. What a privilege to do this!! THANKYOU to everyone that has donated so far!! So appreciative 🧡

Week 1 recap!

1 week down and 24 kms ran so far 💪🏼 Days of sore legs, sunburnt body, 90% humidity and days I was like last bloody thing I wanna do. But I did it ❤️and the feeling after makes it all worth while. Sense of - Achievement - Gratitude - The luckiness and ability to move my body freely THANKYOU to everyone that has donated so far 🧡 7 days down , 24 to go ….
