Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

I am doing this walk because I know some of them. I bet you know someone too - we all do.

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians affected by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

If you can, I'd love you to chip in a few dollars but otherwise I know you will be cheering me on from wherever you are anyway! Thanks!

Doing this as part of a huge caring community in the past made it very rewarding and knowing that my friends and family are supporting me makes even more meaningful.

I'm sure that together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

Third year and looking forward to this!

It's three years since I came across this wonderful month of walking to raise awareness and resources to help people struggling with mental health or affected by suicide.

There's so much to appreciate doing this with a big community of folk i meet via the One Foot Forward network , so many uplifting (and sometimes challenging) stories I have read, and so much compassion from people towards each other. The task of raising funds and creating ways to practically help people doesn't look quite so overwhelming because of this. So pleased to be a part of this, along with thousands of others!
