Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

I’m walking this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide—and for myself. You/we are not alone. To everyone who donated: it’s too overwhelming to thank you individually, but I appreciate you all. Thank you.Mental illness is exhausting. It’s a place where you lose hope and confidence—where you don't know who you are, but you know exactly who you're not. You start this battle ready with a broadsword and a shield. After fighting so long, they get worn down to a toothpick and a fortune cookie. That’s all you have left against the despair. I don't know much, but I’m good at walking. That's enough for now.Actually, I do know one thing: getting the inside fire going with wet wood, when it's cold, is frustratingly challenging. You try for half an hour and the bloody thing doesn't light, and you completely lose hope and give up. Then, all of a sudden, you notice the embers have spread and caught flame. After trying and trying and losing hope, it catches flame and you have a fire that gives you a warm, relaxing space to share or take comfort in yourself. Might be a bit of something in that process for all of us. ❤️
