Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?
This October, Iβm taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we canΒ create better mental health for all Australians.
My Updates
πΏday 1 β in the life of uncertainty
Just breathe. π€ You, I, weβ¦ we are not meant to understand everything. Some days bring questions we don't have answers for. Some moments feel overwhelming, confusing or heavy. And that's okay. Today, remember: 1. π¬οΈ Just breathe. You don't have to solve everything today. 2. π€ Be patient with yourself. Healing isn't a race. 3. π± Be kind to yourself. Speak to yourself the way you would speak to someone you love. 4. π«Ά It's okay not to be okay. Your feelings are valid. 5. π§ You don't have to have all the answers. Uncertainty is part of being human. 6. ποΈ Take one moment at a time. You don't need to carry tomorrow today. 7. π¬ Talk to someone. You don't have to face heavy thoughts alone. 8. πΈ Give yourself permission to rest. Rest is not weakness. 9. β¨ Remember that feelings change. A difficult moment isn't your whole story. 10. β€οΈ Keep going. Even when progress feels invisible, showing up still matters. Today, don't worry about understanding the whole journey. Just take the next breath. Then the next step. And remind yourself: βI am here. I am worthy. I am allowed to take my time.β π€ #MentalHealthAwareness #Day1 #JustBreathe #BeKindToYourself #ItsOkayNotToBeOkay #MentalHealthMatters #OneDayAtATime Share
ONE FOOT FORWARD | OCTOBER π§ π
I am walking for YOU! π
This October, Iβll be participating in the One Foot Forward Walk for mental health awareness, and this walk means so much more to me than simply putting one foot in front of the other.
Behind the smiles we see, the conversations we have, and the lives we share, there are people quietly fighting battles within their own minds. Our family members, our loved ones, our friends, and even those we may never meet are navigating journeys we may not always understand.
Some are fighting battles in silence. Some are searching for hope. Some are learning how to find their way back to themselves.
And sometimes, as much as we love someone, we cannot walk their entire journey for them. But we can remind them that they never have to feel completely alone. We can show up. We can listen. We can offer kindness, compassion, and understanding.
And when we can't walk beside them through every step, we can still take steps in honour of them. π
This walk is for the people who are struggling. For the ones who feel unseen. For those who are fighting to find their light. For the families and friends who love them. And for every beautiful soul who deserves to know that their life matters.
Iβm walking to raise awareness, to encourage conversations, to break down the stigma, and to remind people that asking for help is not a weakness. It's an act of courage.
Every step is a message. Every kilometre carries meaning. Every person we support matters.
So, this October, Iβm putting one foot forward for mental health.
Iβm walking for the people I love. Iβm walking for the people who need hope. Iβm walking for the people whose stories may never be heard. And most importantly...
π I AM WALKING FOR YOU!
You don't have to know someone's entire story to show them compassion.
You don't have to understand someone's battle to offer kindness.
And you don't have to walk the same path to remind someone that they are worthy of love, support, and a brighter tomorrow.
Let's keep choosing kindness. Let's keep checking in. Let's keep having the conversations that could change a life.
Because sometimes, the smallest act of love can become someone's reason to keep moving forward. β¨
With love, light, and a whole lot of heart,
Sara πβ¨
