Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

Sunday 4th october

Family day with both sons and all the grandchildren. Dinner and just a quick walk before the Grand Final. 1.51 Kilometres

Saturday 3rd october

Did walk on my own, just admiring the neighbours gardens and flowers on the way. walked 3.8kilometers.

Walked with my 3yr old granddaughter in the pram.

Waldo several blocks around the local neighbourhood looking at all the colourful flowers and trees in peoples gardens. Stopped to chat to an older Asian man as we were admiring his garden. Telling me he was too unwell now ti look after his garden recently. He asked us to wait and came back and gave me a lovely red bromeliad (Flaming Sword) in a pot to take home. it was a lovely, kind gesture from someone I didn’t even know. I will make sure I pop back and put a Thankyou card in his mailbox (hopefully catch him in the front garden again) I would have stayed longer to chat however it was an extremely hot day and I promised to take my granddaughter to the park on the way back.

Walked with my son

Saw a Macaw bird high in the trees. owners father trying to get him down without success as too high. son on his way home from work, hoping he may be more successful. Several other wild birds trying to attack it despite its size. Son retrieved his beautiful bird in the end. Made the walk entertaining as a really hot day. Unfortunately didn’t take a pic.
