Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

One foot forward 💙

This October, I’m putting One Foot Forward for mental health. For me, this isn’t simply about kilometres walked or money raised. It’s about something much more personal. It’s about the days when simply getting out of bed can feel like an achievement. It’s about the battles people fight quietly, behind smiles and “I’m fine.” It’s about the people who desperately need someone to remind them that they matter. And it’s about creating a world where asking for help with our mental health is met with the same compassion as asking for help with our physical health. Over the last few years, I’ve learnt just how quickly life can change. I’ve experienced some incredibly difficult moments, and there have been times when moving forward has literally meant taking life one day, one hour, and sometimes one step at a time. I also know how powerful it can be when someone shows up. A conversation. A safe place. A person who listens without judgement. A little kindness when you need it most. Those things can seem small, but to someone who is struggling, they can mean everything. That is why this challenge means so much to me. Every step I take this month represents moving forward. Some days those steps might feel easy. Other days they might not. But I'll keep putting one foot in front of the other — because that is something life has taught me to do. I'm raising money to help support mental health research and create better outcomes for people experiencing mental illness. But I also want to use this challenge to start conversations. If sharing a little of my own story makes just one person feel less alone, encourages someone to check on a friend, or reminds somebody that asking for help is a sign of courage, then every step will be worth it. So throughout October, I'll be walking. For the people currently struggling. For the people we've lost. For the families and friends who have stood beside someone they love. For the people who helped me when I needed it. And for anyone who is learning, just as I have, that moving forward doesn't always mean taking huge leaps. Sometimes it simply means putting one foot forward. 💙 If you would like to support my challenge, even the smallest donation will help. And if donating isn't possible, sharing my page or starting a conversation about mental health is just as meaningful. Thank you to everyone who supports me, walks beside me, checks in, listens, or simply reminds another human being that they matter. One step at a time. One conversation at a time. One foot forward. 💙
