Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Day four ✅️

5 AM walks hit different. 🌅 Watching the moon set while first light breaks through, sprinklers turning on as the world slowly wakes up around you. Watching the golden glow break through as the sun rises. Kangaroos on the lawns, birds flying overhead, there’s honestly nothing like it. Four days into the challenge with another 10k steps locked in. One Foot Forward ✨️

Day three ✅️

Day 3 was an easy one ❤️‍🔥

Day two ✅️

Honestly, let’s talk anxiety. Let's be real sometimes just getting out the front door is the hardest part. Walking has always been my outlet but starting was always the hurdle. For years I’d spend ages overthinking the whole walk before I’d even leave the house. Asking myself if I had the capacity or stressing about all the things I could be getting done at home instead. I'd procrastinate forever and just get stuck in my head. Don't get me wrong, I still get those thoughts here & there, but I’ve learned to just bite the bullet. Music on & take that first step because I know damn well if I sit there & have one thought about it, I won't leave. It truly shows how much can change when you keep taking those small steps every day. If your head’s been a bit heavy lately, just know you're not the only one. The hardest steps are always the first ones. One foot forward, every day ✨

Day one ✅️

Spending time outdoors can support mental wellbeing by helping reduce stress and improve mood. When things feel heavy, you don’t have to fix everything at once. Getting outdoors, feeling the sun & giving yourself a little space can be a small but meaningful first step towards looking after your mental health. One Foot Forward ✨️

Mental health awareness ✨️

October is Mental Health Awareness month & for the 4th year I'm putting one foot forward to raise awareness. If you know me, you know how much I advocate for mental health, I’ve fought my own battles, watched people close to me struggle with theirs & I know many others have too. The problem is it’s still not spoken about enough. While the main goal of these fundraisers is to raise money for resources & support, I would much rather this year be about talking & starting those hard conversations. I strongly believe mental health awareness starts with conversations & if I’ve learned anything it’s that the more we talk, the easier it gets. No pressure to donate at all, just sending a text to check in on a mate or reaching out for support means more than you know it.
