Why do i overthink everything

Maybe you overthink so much because… You didn’t grow up in a safe place. You watched every word. You studied every silence. You stayed quiet to avoid tension. Even now, silence feels heavy. You grew up fast. While others played, you stayed alert. You kept the peace. You became the helper, the problem-solver, the one everyone leaned on. You gave everything and still felt unseen. You loved deeply, but it went unnoticed. You tried harder, but it never felt like enough. You were punished for being human. Small mistakes brought big reactions. You learned to fear failure. You learned to hide your truth. You had no guidance. No one taught you how to cope. You figured it out alone. You kept going, even without direction. You were compared, dismissed, and overlooked. Your voice felt too loud. Your needs felt too much. You learned to shrink yourself. You kept emotions inside. Speaking up felt risky. You were told to be strong, so you carried the weight in silence. You protect your heart now. Trust feels hard. People left without warning. Promises broke easily. Apologies came late, or never. You replay everything. You search for hidden meaning. You wonder if you said too much. You wonder if staying quiet caused the same damage. You expect the worst. Even in calm moments, your body stays on edge. Joy feels brief. Peace feels out of reach. You prepare for things to fall apart. Your mind still tries to protect you. It plans. It scans. It rewinds. It learned survival early and never stopped. You are not too much. You are not too sensitive. You are someone who had to carry too much, too young, with too little help. And now, you deserve peace that stays. You deserve love that does not feel confusing. You deserve safety without conditions. You are learning how to heal. And that matters more than anyone knows.

Support Our Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This October, our team is taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

We're walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support our walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
