Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?
This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.
My Updates
Halfway through october
We’re halfway through October, and we’re already WAY over halfway towards our goal of walking 60km this month to raise awareness and funds for the amazing Black Dog Institute! Mental health matters, and raising awareness is such an important step towards breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness. Every conversation, every step and every donation helps make a difference! I am so proud of the progress i’ve made so far, and I can’t wait to see how far i can get to by the end of the month! If you’d like to support my journey, any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me. If you can’t donate, sharing this post helps spread awareness and is just as appreciated! Let’s keep putting one foot in front of the other for mental health! #BlackDogInstitute #MentalHealthAwareness #WalkForMentalHealth #BreakTheStigma #EveryStepCounts 💙 Share
Today-only!!!
The Black Dog Institute has teamed up with Safety Mate to create an incredible today‑only opportunity for anyone wanting to support better mental health across Australia. For today only, every dollar you donate will be doubled — up to the first $150,000! That means your $10 becomes $20. Your $50 becomes $100. Your impact becomes twice as powerful — but only if you donate today. This matched‑donation push is designed to help fund life‑changing mental‑health research, digital tools, school programs, and suicide‑prevention initiatives that support the 1 in 5 Australians living with mental illness. T&Cs apply — and the match is only available for the first $150k, and only for today. If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is the perfect moment to make your contribution go even further. Don’t miss out on this amazing chance to help create real change. Together, we can double the difference we make — but only today. Share
1st of october
Hi, today is the first day of Mental Health Month and I'm walking 60km throughout the month in One Foot Forward to help create better mental health for all... starting today! Share
My plead!!!
This October, I’m taking part in the One Foot Forward challenge to raise money for the Black Dog Institute. My goal is to move 60km (or more!) throughout the month and raise $300 to support life‑changing mental‑health research and services. The Black Dog Institute, founded in 2002 and based in Sydney, is Australia’s only medical research institute dedicated entirely to mental health across the lifespan from childhood through to adulthood. Their work focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and suicide. Their research highlights some confronting realities: 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness every year. Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 25–44, and the second‑leading for those aged 15–24. Men make up 76% of suicide deaths, yet are the least likely to seek help. Black Dog Institute also forms part of the Mindgardens Neuroscience Network, the largest brain‑research collaboration in the Southern Hemisphere. One Foot Forward is their national October challenge where Australians walk, run, or move to support the 1 in 5 living with mental illness. Every kilometre helps fund life‑saving research, free digital mental‑health tools, school programs, and suicide‑prevention initiatives. If you’re able to support my challenge whether by donating, sharing, or cheering me on it truly means a lot. Together, we can help make a real difference for Australians living with mental illness. Get ready!!!
