Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

For the sixth year running, I’ll be taking part in One Foot Forward with the Black Dog Institute, walking (and sometimes running) through October to raise funds and awareness for mental health 💛

The Black Dog Institute is the only medical research organisation in Australia dedicated to mental health across the entire lifespan. Their work is vital in helping to create a more mentally healthy future for all of us.

This year, alongside the Portland Football Netball Club, we’ll be pledging a number of kilometres in solidarity with the 1 in 5 Australians who experience symptoms of mental illness each year.

Many of you already know my story. Living with mental illness has been one of the hardest, most exhausting experiences of my life. It’s a lifelong journey, and one I continue to navigate every day. I speak about it openly because I know I’m not the only one. Almost all of us have been touched in some way, whether through our own experiences, or those of a friend, teammate, colleague or family member.

My personal goal this year is to raise $1,000 and complete 200 kilometres. As a club, we’re aiming for $5,000, and we’d really appreciate your support. Whether it’s $1 or $20, every donation makes a difference. All donations are tax deductible, so hang onto your receipt for the end of financial year.
