My Updates

150KM — YEAR TWO 🖤

Last year, I walked 150km for Jet.

This year, I’m doing it again — but this time, my youngest son Seamus is walking beside me.

For Seamus, suicide isn’t something that happened to someone else. It is something he has to grow up having to live with.

He lost his big brother far too young.

He’s had to watch his family navigate grief, learn about mental health far earlier than any child should have to, and grow up with an empty space where his brother should be.

I can’t change what happened to Jet.

But I can walk beside Seamus.

We can talk.
We can remember.
We can keep Jet’s name alive.
And we can turn the pain of what our family has lived through into something that may help another family.

This year, our 150km is again supporting Black Dog Institute, an organisation that has supported our family through this past year.

And this is only the beginning.

2027 will see us launch our family community movement — Strong Minds. Cast Lines.

A movement built around connection, getting people together, getting outside, casting a line, having the hard conversations and reminding people that they don’t have to sit alone in the dark.

We’ll continue supporting Black Dog Institute through our No Empty Seats campaign — because no one should have to feel like there is nowhere left for them to sit.

And we’ll be preparing for Year Two of Chasing the Light — Jet’s Memorial Poker Run, continuing to turn Jet’s story into something that brings people together rather than allowing his story to end.

Because this isn’t just about one fundraiser.

It’s about what we do after suicide.

It’s about the families left behind.

It’s about the kids growing up without their brother.

It’s about keeping conversations going long after the posts disappear.

And it’s about making sure there are people, places and communities to reach for when someone is struggling.

150km. A mum and her youngest son, walking for the brother and son who should still be here. 🖤
