Mental health has been a part of my story for as long as I can remember. I’ve struggled through different seasons of my life from postnatal depression, anxiety and depression, to circumstances that have tested me in ways I never thought I’d have to face. And it hasn’t only affected me. My kids have experienced their own struggles with mental health too, and as a mum, there is nothing harder than watching your children hurt and wishing you could take it all away for them. For a long time, I thought struggling with my mental health made me weak. I felt like I should be able to cope better, be stronger and have everything together. But I’ve learnt that strength doesn’t mean never struggling. Sometimes strength is admitting you’re not okay. It’s asking for help. It’s getting back up after the days that knock you down. And it’s reminding the people around you that they don’t have to carry everything alone. That’s why mental health awareness matters so much to me. Because behind a smile, a gym session, a busy mum, a friend, a dad, a son or a daughter there can be battles that nobody else can see. I know what it feels like to feel completely alone in your own head. And I also know how powerful it can be when someone simply says, “I’m here. You don’t have to do this alone.” That’s why I believe in what this challenge represents. Because no one should have to carry the weight alone. No one walks alone 🖤

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

No one walks alone 🖤

Mental health has been a part of my story for as long as I can remember. I’ve struggled through different seasons of my life — from postnatal depression, anxiety and depression, to life circumstances that have tested me in ways I never thought I’d have to face. There have been seasons where I’ve felt completely overwhelmed, where getting through the day felt like an achievement, and where I’ve had to learn how to keep putting one foot in front of the other even when I didn’t feel strong enough to do it. And my story hasn’t only been about my own struggles. My kids have experienced their own challenges with mental health too. As a mum, there is nothing harder than watching your children struggle and wishing you could take away the things that hurt them. For a long time, I thought struggling with my mental health meant I wasn't strong enough. I felt like I should be coping better, doing better and somehow have everything together. But I’ve learnt that strength doesn’t mean never struggling. Strength can look like admitting you’re not okay. It can look like asking for help. It can look like getting out of bed on the days you don't want to. It can look like starting again after you've fallen apart. You can be a strong person and still struggle. You can be a good mum and still have bad days. You can laugh, work, train, look after your kids and keep showing up for everyone else while quietly fighting battles nobody knows about. And sometimes the people who look the strongest are carrying the heaviest loads. That’s why mental health awareness matters so much to me. I want my kids to grow up knowing that talking about how you feel isn't weakness. That asking for help is brave. That there is no shame in needing someone to lean on. And that no matter how dark things feel, they never have to face it alone. I also want people to remember that sometimes a simple check-in can mean more than you realise. Because you never truly know what someone is carrying behind the smile they show the world. I'm still learning. Still healing. Still growing. Still having hard days. But I'm also still here. And if sharing a little of my story helps even one person feel seen, understood or a little less alone, then it's worth sharing. Mental health isn't something we should have to hide. Let's talk. Let's listen. Let's carry each other when it gets too heavy. No One Walks Alone 🖤
