Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

9km outside and plenty of time to take it all in.

Today's efforts took me out the back of Tanunda on the dirt roads, and a last minute change of route almost doubled the trip. Appropriately, the Imperfects podcast episode in my wars was chatting about connection and isolation, and how so much of our sense of self and wellbeing comes from the environment we exist in. My takeaway from this is the importance of community and connection... ever think about why people choose to congregate at a cafe or library even when we are engaged in a solo activity? The other part was exploring the importance of connection to the living environment. Taking a moment to notice the sky, the earth, the sounds and sensory input from around us. Ironically, the last 10 minutes of this run was in the pouring rain. What a way to put learning into practice.
