Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Small changes to daily habits, and big hills to climb

While it seems daunting at first when you say to yourself I'm going to walk 100km for mental health, the reality of making it happen is far more mundane. Walking to and from work has net me 6km on the days I go to the office, and that's most of the journey for month done! To make more of an impact for my own well being, and to keep it interesting, we decided to add some slightly more scenic walks in the bush in and around the ACT. Mt Taylor is a bit of a regular spot for us, and has featured in my month already, so today we aimed a little higher, with an elevation gain of 791m, a total walk of 14.8km return and reached the top of Mount Tennent. All around, a worth exercise, for a good cause, and for personal improvement too.
