Prize contributed by Que Sera Yarn Co

Katie has contributed to the prize pool, this cosy set of sock minis.

ABOUT QUE SERA YARNCO
Que Sera Yarnco was founded in 2024 by Katie, born from a love of colour, fibre, and the quiet joy of making. What began as a fascination with yarn and dye slowly grew into a small-batch studio dedicated to hand-dyed artisan yarns, each skein created with care and intention.

Every colourway at Que Sera Yarnco is dyed by hand in small batches, allowing the yarn to develop depth, subtle variation, and a character all its own. The process is both creative and intuitive—part colour study, part quiet craft—resulting in yarns that feel as individual as the projects they become.

Inspired by the nostalgia of traditional fibre arts and the beauty of well-loved handmade pieces, Que Sera Yarnco celebrates the simple rhythm of casting on, stitching slowly, and watching something meaningful take shape. Each skein is an invitation to create, experiment, and enjoy the timeless comfort of yarn in hand.

Because at Que Sera Yarnco, every project begins the same way: with a single skein, a spark of inspiration, and a twist of coloured fate.

Prize contributed by Owl of Athena Fibre Arts

A sock set of soft and bouncy merino/nylon 4 ply yarn in the colourways Lily Pilly Season and Delaney.

ABOUT OWL OF ATHENA FIBRE ARTS
I’m Laura, the dyer behind Owl of Athena Fibre Arts. My journey into the world of dyeing started with a deep-rooted passion for color and working with different fibers. Since then, my obsession has only grown, and I absolutely love creating small-batch yarns in subtle yet beautifully complex colorways.

I draw my inspiration from the natural world, history, literature, and the arts. I specialize in intricate, layered dyeing techniques to create cohesive, intriguing range that incorporates both lively variegated shades and subtle tonals. As an avid sock knitter, you’ll always find a wide variety of sock yarns in my shop, but I also adore working with heavier weights for cosy garments and luxury fibers for those extra-special projects.

This year, I’m excited to launch a brand-new semi-solid collection! It explores a rich, artisanal palette that I truly hope will spark creativity for many more makers.

When I’m not busy dyeing, skeining, or labeling yarn, you can find me hand spinning, tucked away with a good book, or enjoying a cup of tea. I would love to help you find the perfect yarn for your next project, so please come by for a chat!

Prize contributed by Mona the Uncommon Thread

Simone has contributed a knitting kit to make a snood, with gorgeous mohair and wool blend, plus the needles and pattern so you can start straight away.

ABOUT MONA THE UNCOMMON THREAD
The Uncommon Thread is Simone's passion project, aimed at rekindling the lost arts of spinning wool, knitting and crochet. She won't reveal her age, but these crafts were passed down to her from her grandmother, aunt and mother from the age of 10 and have kept her enthralled for 'many years'. She likes to bring you yarns as unique as your crafts.

Simone hand dyes yarn for bespoke handmade clothing and accessories (which you can find at various markets and boutiques along the Surf Coast), and also spins some too. We're excited that she's sharing some of her gorgeous yarn with us at the market! She has lush yarns with a focus on texture, ranging from Italian-spun chunky mohair blends, to slubby yarns, and handspun goodness from locally sourced fleeces. Simone may have even sheared the alpaca and sheep herself!!

Prize contributed by Mollie and the Knits

Mollie's contributed one of her drip socks kits, based on one of her most recently published patterns in the drip series. She's collaborated with two of our stallholders including developing a custom colourway. The kit contains 2 50g skeins of hand dyed yarn, the pattern, exclusive to she's crafty stitch markers, the pattern and a surprise project bag to contain the awesomeness. Go you good thing!

ABOUT MOLLIE AND THE KNITS

Although now I knit every day, I never actually thought I’d be a knitter, let alone a knit designer. I worked for 15 years, in a career I loved, at Apple Inc. I got Rheumatoid arthritis and chronic fatigue and had to say goodbye to Apple. This was so hard. I was sitting alone and resting in bed every single day. This is when I turned to knitting and can I tell you, once I finished my first project I was utterly in love with the slow engagement knitting gave me. I’ve knitted everyday since.

The 7th June 2026, I launch my first knitting pattern, THE DRIP CARDI. I got to launch this pattern in a really special yarn store in Melbourne, Australia. The place is called morris and sons and it is the oldest craft store in Australia. I am a brand new designer and so grateful for knitting and the people new and old that help me every day.

Prize contributed by Mavis Handmade

I've added a set of 3.5" interchangeable needles starter kit in the Indigo variant. I might pop in some stitch markers too ;)

ABOUT MAVIS HANDMADE
After a nervous breakdown in 2018 (how good's workplace discrimination and bullying?), I moved to the country, started to get back on my feet, then the pandemic happened. I lost my factory job, uni went online and I started sewing masks to help pay the mortgage. During a hospital admission for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in lockdown, we were kept in our rooms at all times except to go to treatments. That gave me a lot of time to think about Pacman stitch markers, realise they didn't exist, and work out how to make them myself. Mavis then became about stitch markers, and I've run the gamut from a business that works around my illness, to my business causing burnout, to learning how to work in a physically sustainable manner, and now a business that works around family.

I'm now the sole individual behind She's Crafty... and am expecting my second child in mid-November. So you'll see my chosen movement to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute is Miles Circuits. WISH ME LUCK, I'M GONNA NEED IT.
